My book launch is tomorrow and I leave for vacation in a week and it snowed last night and I have everything to do and so little time to get in all done. And so, in honour of my current state of mind and the fact that I am planning a return trip to Japan, I thought it fitting to share a haiku from the master that captures my current state of mind. If a snail can climb Mount Fuji, I can conquer my to-do list….right?
“O snail
Climb Mount Fuji
But slowly, slowly!”
― Kobayashi Issa
Have a great weekend, everyone!
Lovely.

Applause for your wild book sprite!
Thank you very much
For the mojo you sent me
The launch was awesome!
🙂
Ooh, snow. Are you going somewhere warm for vacation? Have a great time. Love the haiku.
Thankfully the snow is all gone! I do hope it decides to stay away for a while now! I might be Canadian, but I’m a West Coast Canadian, and we don’t do snow. 😉
Hurrah, the day has come! And slowly, slowly, you’ve even managed a PF post, Jane. Happy Day tomorrow, and happy vacation next week! I don’t know this haiku, and love it. Perhaps it is one we all need to post for ourselves!
Sometimes when times get the craziest is when you need poetry the most! 🙂
And thank you! I had a wonderful time with old friends and new friends, and I truly do feel blessed by all the support I received. A wonderful day!
Stunning photo and haiku. Hope all goes well with your book launch and vacation!
Thank you! It was a really lovely afternoon – shy Jane needs a bit of downtime after all that socialising, but it was lovely!
Congratulations on your book launch, Jane (which is today). Hope it went swimmingly!! And have fun on vacation. Hope it’s somewhere warm and lovely!
Thank you! It was an absolute delight, so many lovely, kind and generous people came to help me celebrate, I really do feel blessed.
Congrats! Good Luck! Take one step at a time and don’t forget to enjoy the strawberry!
YES! Exactly! Slowly savour each little bite. 🙂
Woo hoo! I hope the launch is a rousing success and everything you hope for. Enjoy all the busy-ness. It seems your life is full to the brim with good things even if it does bring a towering to-do list.
That’s exactly the way I need to look at it – I’m busy, but it’s all really exciting things, and a change in mindset can really make a world of difference!
A season of adventure has begun for you! Hope the book launch was a smashing success. Bon voyage, deep breaths, and slowly slowly savor this time!
Yes, I need to really work on savouring and really being in the present – I’m always looking ten steps ahead, instead of stopping to really experience each moment.
And the book launch was an absolute blast. ^_^
Congrats! Woo-hoo! Strawberry Hill, here I come!
I actually used to work at the Strawberry Hill library back in the day! Alas there were no strawberries to be had. 😉
That is funny. You’d think people would have had to bring them to share, just because the name was always reminding them.
Good luck with all Jane, and I hope the book launch is a smashing success! I’m short on time with a very long list of to do’s so I can empathize with you. Love that image too, thanks!
