Oliver, Charlie, and Lulu love to play outside together. Their favorite game is hide-and-seek, but it’s not fun for Oliver when his friends hide in the trees—he can’t reach them! So the friends set off to find a tree that Oliver can play in.
But there’s a reason we don’t see elephants in trees, and just when Oliver is ready to give up the search, Charlie and Lulu surprise him with the perfect tree for them all to play in together!
I….I just…my heart…the cuteness! Oh my good heavens, the cuteness! I think this must just be the absolute cutest picture book I’ve ever seen. Those soft, pastel colours, those rosy cheeks, that woodland setting, that sweet friendship story, it’s all just so cute, and I am absolutely in love.
Oliver, Charlie and Lulu are three friends who love to play.
But because Oliver is so much bigger than his two little friends, he cannot scamper about in trees the way that they can. Of course, rabbits don’t typically belong in trees either, but we can overlook that, because the cuteness, oh the cuteness!
This is a very sweet story of friendship, in which the characters come together to find a creative solution that allows everyone to play and participate together. It’s a familiar story, but one that’s always worth reinforcing.
Oliver’s Tree is actually part of a series featuring these three woodland friends. I can’t wait to read the other titles, which look just as adorable.
