It’s been a long time since I participated in the Nonfiction Picture Book Challenge hosted by Kid Lit Frenzy – in fact, as far as I can tell, my last post was all the way back in August 2018, with The Dictionary of Ordinary Extraordinary Animals!
Because I’ve started my own ongoing Wednesday feature (have you been following along with my Writing Wednesday posts?), I’m going to be a bit cheeky and publish this post on Tuesday – after all, it’s already Wednesday in New Zealand, right?
Well, I’m back, and with a really great new nonfiction picture book that’s perfect for sharing in storytimes, and which also features some extraordinary animals.
Who Eats Orange? is a beautifully illustrated nonfiction picture book that’s full of great vocabulary that young readers will eat up (pun intended!).
Animals eat a wide variety of food in a beautiful array of colours. Let’s meet some of these hungry animals!
The simple text is perfect for toddlers and preschools, and the illustrations are strikingly gorgeous, and ideal for sharing with a large group.
A helpful appendix provides additional information on each of the incredible animals features throughout the book, making this a fabulous introduction to nonfiction for the littlest of readers.
Highly, highly recommended!
I know about this book, but have still not read it. Thanks for the reminder, Jane.
