After an unusually long, cold winter here in the Pacific Northwest, spring has finally, finally returned, and I could not be happier. I’m one of those people who really struggles with the winter blues, so being able to bathe my spirit in sunshine once again just warms me right to my very core. And warm it does – it was 16 degrees yesterday, which is positively balmy!
So to celebrate spring’s glorious return, a haiku:
I hope, if you’re in the northern hemisphere anyway, that spring is returning to your corner of the world, and if you’re in the southern hemisphere, here’s hoping for a gloriously golden autumn!
Have a great weekend, everyone, and if you can, go soak in some of that precious golden sun!
Jane, your golden haiku warmed my heart but will it combat the child in the air in Long Island? LOL
Ah yes, I am one of those lucky West Coast folks who has long since packed up my winter parka! 😀
Like you, I love the sunshine. And I think I am different when it’s sunny and warm! I was thrilled this week to have three days of blue skies and warmth, and crocuses, and even a few daffodils. Today we are back to gray and drizzly. Ick!
Gray and drizzly is our usual state here in the PNW too, so several days of blue skies is certainly worth celebrating!! 🙂
It’s been 70 this week, and last night it snowed! What a winter, really March, we’ve had. No matter, it is time to ‘stir’, I agree, Jane!
Come on, winter, you’ve outstayed your welcome, it’s time to move on out! 😉
I’m feeling spring’s warmth just by reading your lovely haiku!
Hurray, that was my hope! 🙂
Love this haiku! It definitely inspires me to start stirring about this spring. Thanks for sharing, Jane!
You’re very welcome, I hope spring is stirring in your area, too!
Love that last line so much, Jane. I can feel it moving!
It feels like the entire natural world is yawning and stretching and finally waking up!
