Oh my goodness, how can it already be September? Where has the summer gone? I can’t say I’m too disappointed, though, as fall really is my favourite season. Bring on those coloured leaves and crisp, sunny days!
Here’s what we’ve been reading this week;
Peek-A-Boo Zoo!
Given how often I use Jane Cabrera’s picture books in my story times, it should come as no surprise that I’ve added her books to my at-home story times. I really love the bouncy rhyming text in this colourful book, it works so beautifully as a read-aloud.
MOM HUGS
A sweet little board book that celebrates animal mothers and their adorable little babes. I’m getting very adept at giving mom hugs! This book was gifted from the lovely folks at Raincoast Books, and I can’t wait until bubs is a wee bit bigger and we can enjoy the lovely photographs together.
Peek-a-Baby Ocean
I love lift-the-flap books, though baby has a bit of a ways to go before he can manage the flaps on his own. At the moment he’s more interested in his toes than in books, but that will come! This book has gorgeous illustrations, just so beautiful, and it feels just a bit more sophisticated than your average board book. There’s even a bit of a vintage feel to the illustrations, which makes them stand out. Another book gifted from Raincoast Books.
Have a great week, fellow book lovers!
Summer really did seem to fly by, this year. I guess I kept very busy the whole time, though. These books look so sweet, Jane. I’m going to see if I can hunt down a local copy of Peek-A-Boo Zoo. Have a wonderful reading week!
It is hard to believe it’s September, but I am ready for cooler days! Thanks for these baby books, Jane. I’ll pass on the titles to those who will love them!
Oh my goodness, me too! I confess I’m not much for hot temperatures, I’m definitely more comfortable in cooler weather.
I love your method of displaying the books — it’s lovely! It must be such fun to so closely anticipate sharing these baby books. I remember reading aloud to my sleepy infants; they liked hearing my voice and let me have complete discretion in the topic.
Ha yes, daddy likes reading whatever he’s reading to baby, so sometimes baby gets car repair manuals or the IKEA catalogue. 😀
