As is the case in many families, our baby spends most of his time with his mummy while his daddy toils away at the office for 8-12 hours a day. A combination of a long workday, a rush-hour commute and an early bedtime means that baby and daddy don’t typically have much time to bond together each day.
This is where reading comes in.
Daddy started a daily routine in which he sits baby in his lap and they read two books together. Sometimes they read board books, sometimes they read picture books. Sometimes they read one of the two books several times, sometimes they only read half a picture book before wiggly bay starts to lose interest.
But they always sit together and read.
These little moments are so simple, and so easy to fit into even the busiest days.
But they mean so, so much.
