Invitations to baby showers and first birthday parties have started rolling in recently, and while doing a bit of online shopping I realized that I could hit two birds with one stone by turning my gift giving research into a blog post! And so, without further ado, I present a random assortment of book-related items that would make perfect gifts for any bookish babies in your life. As a quick note, none of these posts are sponsored, and I do not make any commission on any purchases you might make. I also haven’t purchased any of these items, so I can’t comment on their quality, nor on the experience of working with the seller. I just found them all adorable. As well, you could definitely find cute bookish gifts at your local big box store, but I thought it would be nice to highlight some independent retailers via Etsy. OK, let’s get into the gifts!
These bookish leggings look so cute and comfy! Leggings are so useful when it comes to dressing babies because they are easy to pull on and off, and allow baby to wiggle and move with the greatest of ease. I wish they made these in adult sizes, how much fun they’d be to wear to work! I’m not ashamed to say that I have spent the last year primarily wearing leggings – they’re just so darn comfortable and forgiving.
Drooly babies like mine wear bibs pretty much all day, every day, so why not put them in a cute bookish bib like this and make their book nerd status known to the world?
I can’t imagine a sweeter work of art for a sweet little girl’s nursery. This artist makes utterly enchanting works of art that I would love to decorate my entire home with.
Snuggle up with baby and a good book and stay cozy warm under a plush reading blanket. Perfect for climates that just don’t seem to understand that it’s spring!
Our sweet baby loved being swaddled, but alas we never had a swaddle quite as literary, or as beautiful, as this stretchy swaddle, illustrated with gorgeous maps from literature.
And from the same seller, look at this beautiful cloth baby book! Our wee one loves cloth books, and this introduction to literary homes would make a gorgeous gift for the book-loving parents in your life.
There are about a million adorable book-themed baby onesies out there, but this one, designed by Susie Ghahremani, is particularly sweet, and you could complete the gift with a copy of one of Ghahremani’s picture books!
What if your party host has requested no gifts, but you can’t bear to show up empty handed? Consider making a donation to a literacy-supporting organization in honour of the birthday child for a gift that truly keeps giving. Here’s a list of some great organizations that would welcome your donations.
Hopefully this little roundup has given you some inspiration – now get out there and spread some bookish love!
