This week’s Top Ten Tuesday theme is “Why I love…”, and today I will be sharing with you ten reason why I adore tea. Why not pour yourself a cuppa and read long?
It can wake you up: Need a little pep in your step? Try a bold black tea like my beloved TATA tea, or, if you want even more of a buzz, a rich matcha latte or a South American yerba matte. Coffee has some series competition in the caffeine department!
It can calm you down: How better to wind down after a busy day than with a steaming cup of chamomile tea? A flavourful rooibos latte can also be a delightful way to end your day.
It can warm you up: After a cold, wet, miserable winter commute, there’s nothing I want more than to pop on the kettle and warm up with a hot cup of tea. It really does warm the body and the spirit.
It can cool you down: One of my favourite summer beverages is a iced green tea lemonade from Starbucks – curse you, quarantine! A mango green tea bubble tea is another much-loved cooling beverage. Bring on the summer!
It comes in a variety of flavours: Black, white, green, oolong, herbal, fruit – whatever your fancy, there’s probably a variety of tea that with tickle your taste buds.
It has health benefits: Green teas in particular are known for their anti-oxidant properties, and you can purchase tea blends developed with specific health benefits in mind. Mint tea is also a wonderful beverage to soothe an over-indulged tummy!
It can be cheap as chips: My beloved TATA tea is very affordable, and most grocery store chains offer store brand teas that are absolutely delicious. Which, when you drink as many cups a tea a day as I do, is a very good thing.
It can be an luxurious treat: For Valentine’s Day this year my darling partner treated my to a pack of very swanky, very fancy tea from TWG Tea – a light and floral Darjeeling that I save for Sunday mornings when I can actually savour a steaming cup while it’s still hot.
You can use it in baking: Mixed berry and jasmine tea scones! Chai tea cookies! Early Grey cookies! Oh, it’s enough to make your mouth water.
You can use it in your beauty routine: While I would much prefer to drink my tea, there are at least 14 beauty products that include tea in their ingredients, proving the versatility of this wondrous plant.
And there you have it, friends – 10 reasons why I love tea! Do you love this beverage as much as I do? I’d love to learn your favourite type of tea!
I love tea, too, but I had no idea you could use it in baking. Neat.

I don’t drink tea, but I still enjoyed your list! I knew tea was very versatile, but you still taught me some things today 🙂
