Life has been….trying, for everyone recently, to say the least. Some days I really don’t have the brainpower left after working and being a mum to write anything worth reading, either here on the blog or in my writing notebook. On those days especially, I rely heavily on the restorative power of tea.

I’ve mentioned my love of tea before here on the blog, many times. I typically even mention it in my author bio. I can’t help it. I really do love tea. I can’t fully function in the morning before I’ve had a few sips, and a cup of tea helps me wind down after a busy day.
I’m quite boring when it comes to my tea-drinking habits, as I really only enjoy strong, unflavoured black tea, usually just with milk, sometimes with an added splash of vanilla if I’m feeling fancy. I’m a simple person with simple tastes, apparently!
While my beloved TATA tea still holds an important place in my heart, I’ve recently discovered another bold, richly flavoured black tea that fills that mug-shaped hole in my heart: TYPOO EXTRA STRONG.

So dark. So bitter. So strong. So good. A proper cup of tea, one that my grandmother would have approved of – she always said tea should be so strong that your spoon can stand up in it by itself! A small but formidable woman, my grandmother.
Alas I am not sponsored in any way by the Typhoo tea company, though if they ever wanted to send me some free tea, I wouldn’t be upset. If you’re in B.C., you can usually find it on sale at London Drugs – just a little tea tip from me to you.
If you’re a tea drinker, what’s your favourite kind of tea? I always love discovering new favourites!
