I know I posted about tea just a post or two ago, but what can I say, I’m hopelessly devoted to the stuff.
My preferred hot beverage has always a hot, dark, strong black tea served with plenty of milk, and as I’ve grown older, my desire for strong, bitter flavours has only grown. Teas that I used to enjoy, like Darjeeling and Earl Grey, are not nearly robust enough for me now!
My partner, the wonderful Raincity Software Engineer, knows my tastes well, and treated me to an absolutely wonderful tea for Christmas this year – the Mt. Kenya Black Tea from Justea. It is dark, richly flavoured, malty and all around delicious – a bracing tea that really helps me wake up in the morning – and goodness knows, I need all the help I can get, especially on these cold and gloomy mornings.
This isn’t the most economical tea in my collection, but it is delicious, and according to the website the company works closely with and actively empowers the communities who produce the tea, which sounds like a cause worth supporting.
Once I’ve finished this tea, I’d love to try others from the same producer – this African Breakfast sounds wonderful.
Readers, do you have a favourite tea you think I should try? I’d honestly love to hear your suggestions, I’m always on the lookout for a new favourite to add to my collection!
