IT’S HERE! IT’S HERE!
My author copies of ANIMALS MOVE have arrived, and I can’t express what an incredible thrill it is to hold my very own published book in my hands. I don’t think seeing my name on the cover of a book will ever get old. I dreamed of this as a little girl, and it still hardly feels real to think that other people will (hopefully, ha ha) be reading something I wrote.
My son’s stuffed chinchilla Chi Chi was enlisted to help me take some photos to celebrate the occasion, with stage direction from my son. I didn’t have the heart to tell Chi Chi that there aren’t actually any chinchillas in the book, though in hindsight that was a major mistake on my part, because chinchilla kits are adorable. There are kittens, puppies, puggles, tadpoles and a bunch more cute baby animals (and kids!) in the book, though!
Chi Chi seems to be enjoying the book, lack of chinchillas notwithstanding. I wonder, which animal do you think is her favourite? My son is currently convinced he’s a kitten, so that cover absolutely received his approval.
