ANIMALS MOVE has been shortlisted for the CLEL Bells Award in the PLAY category! Put on by Colorado Libraries for Early Literacy, the Bells “are an annual recognition of five high-quality picture books that provide excellent support of early literacy development in young children.” To make the shortlist for these awards is such an incredible thrill, and I couldn’t be prouder of this little book I wrote!
A massive thank you as always to the talented team at Pajama Press who have believed in me and my writing since the very beginning, publishing my very first picture book, WILD ONE, all the way back in 2017.
As cliched as it sounds, whether or not ANIMALS MOVE actually takes home the award, I’m just so honoured to have made this shortlist. To know that children’s librarians and early childhood educators find value in my work makes me incredibly happy, and motivates me to keep writing and keep pushing and keep striving, even in an industry as challenging as publishing. I’m passionate about writing stories that support young children and families, and I’m so glad that others have connected with those stories.
Congratulations Jane! 🎉
