One of my chronic illnesses has been flaring up recently, so to take it easy on my body we did a simple activity this week, but it was still lots of fun. Taking inspiration from Andy Warhol, we decorated simple apple drawings to make a collaborative pop art-style work of art!
Honestly, this program is so simple I feel a bit guilty even writing about it, but sometimes you just need to step back and take a bit of a breather. You could do this activity with any kind of art supplies you have around – we just used crayons, markers and pencil crayons (or colored pencils, for my American friends), but you could use paint, glitter, stickers, pastels, and whatever else you’d like.
One child decided to turn their apple into a chick, and then everyone wanted to create adorable apple animals (applimals?_, which turned out super cute.
Even the simplest activities can be a lot of fun – just bring your enthusiasm and excitement, and usually the kids will bring the creativity! 🙂
