I was looking for a simple, creative activity for the kids at my Summer Reading Club wrap up party, and came across this fun project from Left Brain Craft Brain: make your own stickers!

We used the sticker templates provided in the post, plus some other simple templates, and had blank paper available for kids to draw their own designs. I pre-cut parchment paper into smaller rectangles, put out coloring supplies and kid safe scissors, and had several tape dispensers available.
It was a bit chaotic, as the wrap up party turned out to be better attended than we had anticipated (always a nice problem to have), but the craft itself was a major hit, with kids thrilled to create little works of art with which to decorate their lunch boxes, water bottles and binders as they head back to school. Several told me that they could wait to make more stickers with their friends at home!

I made two examples, and now they’re bringing some colour and cheer to my desk. I might just end up covering the entire workroom in brightly coloured stickers.
If you’re looking for a fun, easy craft activity with wide appeal across age groups, I highly recommend making your own stickers! Parchment paper and packing tape can both be found at dollar stores, making this a relatively inexpensive activity – perfect for programs on a budget. Have fun!
