It’s been a while, bookish friends! Life has been busy, with work and parenthood taking up all my time and energy, and whenever something has to give, blogging and social media are the first to go. But I have found a brief moment of calm, so I’ll be using it to share a few books we’ve been reading recently – because no matter how busy life gets, we’re always reading.
Fox Tails: The Great Bunk Bed Battle : We really enjoy this series of early readers, featuring fox siblings and their dog.
Fox Tails – The Giant Ice Cream Mess : More foxy fun – this time with ice cream! Very funny, and perfect for more confident beginner readers, or for new readers with some grown up support.
Goat in a Boat – A has discovered the joy of rhyme, so this rhyming book was a major hit – he found it hilarious, and loved all the rhyming words.
Bobo and Pup-Pup – We Love Bubbles! : And finally – who doesn’t love bubbles?! This is another fantastic reader, with plenty of repetition, and fun words to shout out, like POP!
I also discovered my book baby Wild One on display in a local Indigo location (a Canadian bookstore chain similar to Barnes & Noble), which was of course quite the thrill!
The new board book edition is adorable, and it’s been so much fun to spot my first book baby back on bookstore shelves, all these years later.
I hope everyone is keeping well, and have a wonderful week, friends!
Oh, Jane! Each one looks very cute, with adorable titles, too! I have one friend with little ones, so will pass the titles on to her! Thank you!
We’re are definitely making good use of our local library! We borrow stacks of books on a regular basis. 🙂
Welcome back! It must be nice to see your book in a new format. I hope it finds new readers!
Thanks! It’s been pretty fun to see it on shelves again. I tend to work with small publishers, so it’s not always easy to find my books actually in bookstores, so it’s been a neat experience. 🙂
These books all look delightful Jane! I have been thinking about getting my 4 (one is almost 5) year old granddaughters Mega-Predators of the Past by Melissa Stewart & Howard Gray for one of their xmas books. I’ve read the ebook and liked it, but am wondering if you read it with your little person? Are there too many words on the page? I’m hoping to make it to Kidsbooks when I’m in Vancouver next week to see if they have any of these books you’ve mentioned here.
Hmm, I’ll see if I can find a copy and take a look! Oddly enough, my kiddo has never been interested in dinosaurs – which is wild to me, since I was dinosaur-MAD as a kiddo!! My parents even took me to Alberta a couple times on summer holiday, so I could see dinosaur dig sites, ha ha. His current obsession is rocks and minerals – you just can’t tell what kids will be into!
Funny how life gets in the way of social media sometimes! I only have to contend with my dog, who loves it when I read. I have a grandchild coming in March, so will take a closer look at some of these books for younger readers!
