It’s been a banner few weeks for my newest book, BUNNY LOVES BEANS (Pajama Press, 2024).

The Canadian Children’s Book Centre produces a quarterly magazine highlighting the best in new Canadian books for young people. Books that are of particular merit receive a coveted star.
Well, look whose shining brightly in the Fall 2024 edition!

Yes, that’s BUNNY LOVES BEANS boasting a beautiful red star, indicating that, to the creators of the magazine at least, it’s a “title of exceptional calibre.”
Who am I to argue with that?
All joking aside, reviews like this really do means so much to any creator – being in the book-making space is tough, and the frequent rejections and ghosting from publishers can really do a number on anyone’s confidence. To know that someone in the industry values my work and wants to get it into the hands of children and families is incredibly inspiring, and helps me keep going on days when I’m not really sure I’m cut out for this whole writing business.
So, thank you, Canadian Children’s Book Centre, for believing in my sweet little book about animals, foods and colours.
If you’ve enjoyed any of my books, perhaps you’ll consider leaving a review of your own somewhere, on your platform of choice.
