It’s been a while since I joined in this wonderful book-sharing community, life has been busy! I did want to pop in and share my son’s current reading obsession – the InvestiGATORS!

My husband discovered these books at the library a while back, and my son has taken to them like a fish to water – we’ve either borrowed or placed holds on every book in the series so far, and the spin-off series, Agents of S.U.I.T. He’d been in a bit of reading funk, so we were pretty thrilled to find a series that my son actually wanted to read!
In a bit of an aside, I once visited a school to promote the library’s summer reading program, and the teacher librarian looked at the books I was about to present to the students and said, nose firmly turned up, “Didn’t you bring any actual books?” Oooof. Graphic novels are books, friends, and if adults can read James Patterson or Fifty Shades of Grey or whatever other trashy novels they enjoy, kids should be free to read whatever they want, too!
I wrote more about the adventures of Mango and Brash in my most recent Poetry Friday post so I won’t go on too about how amazing this series is, but if you have a reluctant reader in your life, consider giving the InvestiGATORS a try!
Too funny, when I stopped by my local library yesterday I ran into one of my students who had several InvestGATORS in her arms along with a slew of graphic novels. We had a great chat about how awesome graphic novels are.
